Dear Black Man (excerpt)

image

Dear Black Man,

I hear your pain and acknowledge your anger. Persecution came barreling down at every angle long before this country’s first census. Witnesses stayed disabled, whitewashed or fabled to serve and protect while weapons char your bodies, and your humanity is neglected. I get it now; popularity not protests nor pussy can help put posttraumatic stress on pause. Just remember we are behind you…..
